Hadrian’s Villa is one of the Italian UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It was conceived to be the emperor’s home. Although mostly in ruins there is enough to get the feel of what this impressive villa must have looked like in its day: there are beautiful trees, a pool lined with statues called Canopus that really gives us a glimpse of the magnificence of this imperial leisure place.
