Overview
We are going to have a Tour in the heart of Roman Christianity. Starting from the Basilica of St. Mary Major dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The Basilica called "Liberiana", was built of Pope Sixtus III. Inside along the walls of the architrave, we can admire a series of mosaics represent scenes from the Old Testament, the mosaic in the apse by Torriti,and also the great canopy by Fuga supported by four splendid porphyry columns. Afterwards, we are going to visit the Basilica of St. John Latera, where inside we can admire the mosaic by Torriti. Outside we are going to visit the wonderful "Holy Staircase" . The Tour is going to finish with the visite of the " Basilica of the holy crosss of Jerusalem", which was raised over an ancient imperial palace. We are going to visit the famous "Chapel of St. Empress Elena" and the "Chapel of the relics of the passion of Christ. More info
