Overview
The tour starts with a visit to the Belevedere Palace, originally a 15th century Loggia later converted into the Pium-Clementinum Museum, housing some of the most important Roman marble statue preserved in the Vatican, as well as the Apoxyomenos, Apollo, Laocoon Group, Belvedere Torso, the Marble Zoo, and many others. Then, passing through a series of galleries, decorated with antique chandeliers and tapestries, and including the amazing Gallery of Maps, your guide will show you a part of the papal apartment with the beautiful rooms, decorated by the famous painter Raphael. They are considered one of the masterpieces of the so called Florentine Renaissance. After leaving the papal apartment it will be time to gape at the splendor of the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel.
